Amazing. This is the only way to describe the presentation of David Villa’s Official Calendar for 2010 that took place today in the Shopping Center of MN4 in Alfafar. About 3.000 people came to the event designed to show to the public one of the star products of this Christmas holidays. The supporters of Valencia CF’s player created a real massive queue since midday, almost three hours before the act was supposed to begin, and continuing a line that occupied also the first and second floor of the shopping mall.

David, after attending to the media, did not stop for one second –during almost two hours – to continue getting pictures taken with his fans and sign his calendar for all of them. Children and adults, people of all ages, didn’t want to miss the chance to meet the Guaje, who insisted on providing every one of them his signature and his smile.

Villa was very emotional due to the incredible response of his fans and so he said many times throughout the event. When asked about his expectations for 2010, the international striker spoke about both his personal and professional hopes: “I mostly ask for health, and professionally I would love to win a trophy with Valencia CF y of course with the national team have a good result in the World Cup”.

The asturian forward, also referring to daily issues, has spoken about the match in the Europa League that they are going to play. “I’m happy, I think the draw against Brujas is quite satisfactory, specially taking into consideration the teams we could have met, however we face both matches with great respect”. Also, Villa analyzed the next visit against Deportivo in Riazor, a very inspiring stadium because “in that stadium I scored one of the nicest goals of my career, I have also scored other goals there, it brings me good memories but this match could be different from the previous ones”.
